The latest product releases from MeasureOne

Expanded tax document coverage

  • 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC support: Customers can now request these forms across all brokerage and bank connections, widening the range of tax documents available through your integration.
  • 1099-DA (digital asset) support: We added support for the IRS's new 1099-DA form, covering crypto and other digital asset income. It's requestable, uploadable, and retrievable via the widget, dashboard, and developer tools, including when it's bundled inside a consolidated 1099.

Stronger verification and reliability

  • Paste support for verification codes: Users can now paste MFA and email verification codes instead of typing them manually, on both desktop and mobile, cutting down entry errors and speeding up verification.
  • Higher auto-refresh retry limit: The auto-refresh retry limit is now configurable up to 10 attempts (previously 5), giving accounts more room to complete a refresh successfully.
  • French (Canada) support: The Enrollment Status widget is now available in Canadian French.

A cleaner, faster upload experience

  • Simplified manual upload: The document list in Manual Upload is now a clean text list instead of clickable-looking cards, cutting down on confused clicks and making the widget lighter and faster to load.
  • Clearer upload status: Users now see a dedicated "uploading" message instead of a generic "loading" one, for clearer feedback during uploads.

Together, these updates mean broader document coverage, fewer failed verifications, and a smoother experience end to end.

Reviewing the state of application fraud in tenant screening

Automation is becoming the baseline for how leasing teams manage risk, speed, and scale. As manual review struggles to keep pace with more sophisticated fraud and rising applicant volume, the shift toward automated, continuous verification is reshaping how the best-run portfolios operate. Here's a closer look at what that shift means for our customers:

Turning manual review into a reliable, automated workflow

Manual review has quietly become the biggest liability in the leasing funnel. Every pay stub retyped by hand and every document uploaded outside the portal adds friction, cost, and risk. And that risk compounds as application volume grows. At the same time, the threat has changed shape: generative AI has made fabricated income documents far harder to catch by eye, meaning the fraud slipping through manual review today looks nothing like the fraud teams were trained to spot a few years ago.

The response isn't more scrutiny from leasing agents; it's structural. Automated, embedded verification pulls data directly at the source, keeps applicants inside a single portal instead of routing them elsewhere, and removes the guesswork of document review altogether. Portfolios making this shift aren't just moving faster; they're catching more fraud, saving time and money on candidate review, and creating a better tenant experience.

Why renters insurance is the missing piece of property security

Renters insurance compliance is often treated as a one-time checkbox at move-in, but that's exactly where the risk hides. A valid declarations page at signing says nothing about whether that policy is still active six months later, and canceled or lapsed coverage tends to go unnoticed until it's too late to matter. The industry's response has been to move away from point-in-time document checks entirely, replacing manual PDF audits with automated data pipelines that pull directly from the source and stay current for the life of the lease.

That shift only works, though, if it fits into how leasing teams actually operate. Verification tools bolted on as a separate login tend to get skipped under pressure; the ones built natively into the systems agents already use are the ones that actually get adopted. The winning approach pairs continuous, automated data with a workflow that doesn't ask leasing agents to change how they work.

Monitoring can be the most important tool for fraud prevention

Verifying an applicant once at onboarding assumes risk is static, but, unfortunately, it isn’t. Synthetic identities are specifically engineered to pass a single screening moment, presenting a clean credit profile and consistent documentation that looks legitimate on paper precisely because it was built to. The vast majority of apartment operators report dealing with application fraud today, and a one-time check simply isn't built to catch identities designed to clear it.

Continuous monitoring closes that gap by treating verification as an ongoing signal rather than a single gate. Instead of asking "did this applicant pass at move-in," the better question is whether their status still holds a month later, or six months later. That reframing (from point-in-time approval to continuous assurance) is quickly becoming the standard portfolios are measured against, not a differentiator reserved for the most sophisticated operators.
